Rules of the decision laboratory
In order to participate in the decision studies, one must register in the PRCRlab participant register at https://orsee.utu.fi. By registering, you express your willingness to participate in the studies organized by PRCRlab researchers. Registering requires accepting the following rules.
You can register only once in the PRCRlab’s participant register.
Rules regarding experimental sessions:
- For each session, a pre-determined number of people is invited. Only invited individuals can participate in a given session.
- If you receive an invitation to participate, you must reply to the invitation to confirm your participation. This confirmation is binding.
- If you wish to cancel your participation, you must send an email to pcrclab@utu.fi. It is important that you cancel your participation in time, so that a replacement can be found.
- Participation is paid. The reward consists of show-up fee and earnings accumulated during the study. The size of the reward depends on the choices made by you and the other participants, and some random luck.
- All invited participants that arrive to the study location in time are eligible for the show-up fee regardless of whether they participate in the actual study.
- A few extra participants are invited for each experimental session. The participants of the study are then selected among those that arrive with "first come, first served" basis.
- You need a photo ID (inc. student ID) to enter the study. Proving your identity is a requirement for being paid for the study.
- During the study each participant must follow the written and/or oral rules of the particular study in question as communicated by the organizers.
As I sign up to the PRCRlab register, I understand and accept the following points:
I understand that not showing up or arriving late to a study session can lead to the entire session being cancelled. If I am unable to arrive, I am responsible to notify my cancellation to the organizers at least 24 hours before the start of the study session.
Not arriving on time without an adequate cancellation leads to a mark in the participant register. Accumulating several markings will lead to the participant losing their right to participate in future studies.
Choices made by each individual in an experiment cannot be merged with the personal data of the participant register. The data collected in the experimental sessions will be analyzed at group-level. In other words, decision-making in the experimental studies in anonymous.
